The Holangola Foundation, started on the 17th of March 2008, wants to help the Angolan people. Our first aim was to transport disused (rejected on technical grounds) fire engines from the Netherlands to Angola, and give them a thorough overhaul, after which they could still provide many years of good service. Back then there were 18 disused Dutch fire engines at various locations in Angola awaiting service. For these, we were in the process of finding usable spare parts.

Part of our plan, using Dutch knowhow and methods, was to set up a service system to the motor industry in Angola. These service points could also be used to service not only fire engines but also other utility vehicles, such as agricultural vehicles, lorries and water tankers.
