Classroom in Chindumba

No desks or chairs...


The children in this classroom have to sit on the floor. They have no seats and no desks for their schoolbooks.


The school is located in a small village Chindum­ba, in Bie province in the southern part of Angola. This is Chin­dumba's primary school; it has 192 pupils ranging from 6 to 13 years, split into 4 different classes. That means that each class has approximately 48 pupils...


Many primary schools in rural areas of Angola are very poorly equipped. They have almost none of the basic necessities one would expect of a primary school. There is a crying need for exercise and schoolbooks, blackboards, and writing materials. Also desks and chairs are often not supplied. Stichting Hol­angola wants to help these children.
